Are there any Catfish from lake Malawi ?

Yes, more than a dozen Clariids, a couple of Bagrids, at least one Mochkid and perhaps an Amphiliid or two.

Synodontis njassae is the only one you're likely to encounter in the hobby, and even it is not often seen.

there are - my sister has been scuba diving there and saw lots of catfish hiding under rocks! :D
