I have an aqua external but not model one i have the aqua three,I have had no problems with it so far but i have only had it for around a year but so far no problems,The media provided is good quality and comes with all hose attachments and fitting and fixtures (lots of them) I personally use filter wool in the second basket to catch the smaller particles and so far it has kept my pleco/loack tank crystal clear.I think i paid 50-60 pound for mine and so far im pleased.

Hope this helps ya a little :)

Thanks for your assistance they sound pretty good. And over here they are 1 third the price of Ehiem & Fluval. They come out to pretty much what you are paying for them over there.
