L199 help?

Post by mystel »

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but you lovely folks id'd my guy as an L199 Hypancistrus. This works well. Someone said if he has a small mouth, he's a meat eater. So through my experimenting, I have tried feeding him algae pellets (which he pretty well ignores.. I think. he won't do anything if there are humans around!) and blood worms. Today I think I saw him eating blood worms. He only did it if I was looking away, cheeky sod. So in the assumption that he was eating the blood worms (he was chewing but i didn't see what basically, and there were bloodworms there but no algae pellets.. hence my conclusion) what else could I feed him? The information on the cat-elog is pretty.. non existant for that guy so I'm at a total loss. I don't know where it's from or what it's diet is.
So yeah, sorry if that's in the wrong spot but I wasn't sure where else to go.
Thanks!
Ellie and Humbug :D

Hi!

You are doing the right thing.
Check the informations for the other Hypancistrus spp in the Catelog...you can use them for him as well...

You might want to feed him when the lights go off...

Cheers

Thanks Yann. I really appreciate that! I'm also really sorry about putting that in the wrong spot but with such limited info that I have I didn't know what else to do. You guys are all so clever. :D So basically any other meat eating Hypancistrus should be okay? Awesome. :D
He's the coolest catfish I've ever seen... and when I bought him I was told he was a "Hairy Pleco" which he most definately is not! I tried telling them they were wrong but decided to just buy him and go before they kicked me out. :)
Anyways thanks for the help!
