It actually has two tankmates, a gibbiceps pleco and a Pseudodoras niger.
The gibbiceps is the L196 type with huge fins. It looks a lot bigger than it actually is; maybe confuses the Red tail's radar. And the Red tail's method of assault (attacking the flanks) is a no-no when it comes to a niger.
The barb, though, was definitely a mistake. Everything was fine for the first five minutes....
No serious harm was done because I implemented plan B. The barb (minus a few scales) lives instead with a Synodontis decorus, S. notatus, a pair of Hoplosternum littorale and a Snakeskin pleco (L161).

hello, i have just bought a red tail tinfoil fish about a little over a week now... i had other fish in my tank before i put in the red tail like 2 Bala/Silver Shark, 1 Neon Tetra, 1 Kissing Gourami, 1 Guppy, and 1 Plec (Hypostomus plecostomus).. the Plec was the last one to go.. anyway all have died now
and the only one left is the red tail.. i have notice that the red tail followed or copied or what every fish in the tank.. can you guys give me some input about this red tail????
