Hi everybody, love this website, I've been keeping catfish both tropical and domestic varieties since the '60's. Favorite species by family include pimelodidae, claridae, mochokidae and bagridae among others, fascinated by large species, raised many in the past but now inclined toward small to medium sized fish as limited with only 135 gal. tank. Currently keeping a pair of fossil cats(h. fossillis)a pair of giraffe cats(a. occidentalis) the obligatory common pleco, a couple of smaller pimelodids and an 18" sail fin pim(l.pictus), my favorite but grew from 5" to it's current size in only 4 months! After finding a home for it and later on the giraffe cats, planning on specializing the hobby toward synodontis varieties, for obvious reasons... I also go fishing for catfish, especially big flatheads (pylodictis olivaris) and I release 'em all alive back into the river...
