Any chance of better pics? I'd love to add this fellow to the cat-elog as I haven't any pictures of him.

Thanks for posting the pics, I've added them to the cat-elog and would appreciate a few updated pics when the disease clears up.

Sorry, he didn't make it. When I started with the medications i turned the temp. up to 30*c and the Chetostoma and 3 killis passed away. But the rest survived. Including all my other catfish; 5 C. Aeneus, 1 Dekeyseria L052 and 1 Ancistrus doli.

I know the standard cure for ich involves raising the temperature, but Chaetostoma do very poorly at such elevated temperatures, especially when they are weakened by disease.

My Chaetostoma had ich before, and it went away without my medicating or raising the temperature (it was feeding normally prior to getting the disease). It finally died in an unrelated heater accident.

Out of over a dozen Chaetostoma I've tried taking home, only 1 survived past the ich/food refusal stage. Then my luck has it die of what I assume to be viral lymphocystis a couple months later. Of course only a scant few actually didn't get ich, but I also wasn't using the small amount of salt that I am today (teaspoon per 10g at most) in my quarantine tank.. That's helped me alot w/ some other types of fish recently, but for meds I've found aquarium products' quick cure to be excellent when it comes down to that.

Hope you find more Oblivious, definately a good lookin fish!
