Planet Catfish Christmas Cards
I would like to canvas opinion on whether Planet visitors would buy a Planet Catfish Christmas card or not. This is something I am thinking of for next year.
Also, bearing in mind all profits go to Planet, what cost would you be willing to pay for say 20 cards and what would you want to see on them?
All comments welcome!

I'd pay if they're neat pictures of catfish!
The only card I've ever seen with a catfish was in France where they have a huge public aquarium near the Dordogne.
It houses Silurus, Sturio, Huso and all kinds of big European fish (it's actually kind of a zoo with lots of tanks, not just one),
the shop there sold postcards with Silurus.
Nice card by the way; it showed a group of them laying together all "smiling".
I've seen them swimming there in exactly the same way.
it was one of those "walk underneat the fish tunnel thingies" you see in big zoo's; usually those have sharks
, but this one's different.
NEVER seen any other postcard with live catfishes on them!
A card with a granny would be nice, or Sturisoma or a nice King Tiger Pleco; esp a hairy one.
non-aquarists would go like: HUH? it's a hairy fish!

Cards are okay, I would get some, but my mother probably would not understand why she is getting a picture of a hairy catfish in the mail.
The calendar idea is good with room for notes, I always keep one around to jot down what's going on, downside would be PC having to sell dated stock which can be risky.

LOL, Jools.
How about you could have the best photo's from the Catfish photo competition on the front, if that gets up and running again? Although this may narrow the range of people who buy them, as a catfish on Christmas card might seem strange to some people
.
Maybe catfish dressed in a Santa suit with bristle-Noses for raindeer (you wouldn't even need to give them horns!),LOL.
Cheers, CatBrat.

Jools,
what about a catfish poster?!
I have seen some catfish posters, but i think PC could make one better! (you know, L#, corys...)
If you make cards, i will start to collect them instead of sending them
BTW pics you have, and every member would be proud to see his pic on some really good loking catfish poster!
regards
Vedran

Re: Planet Catfish Christmas Cards
I would love card!s and a calendar. In the US people ask and GET quite a bit for cards. So, boxes of 10 at 15 bucks wouldn't be too much, it it is a fund raiser. Twenty cards a box could get pretty expensive, but I do have some fancy cards priceds at 17$US in my drawer.Jools wrote:Planet visitors would buy a Planet Catfish Christmas card or not. ...what would you be willing to pay for say 20 cards and what would you want to see on them?
Maybe the calendar last year was not well promoted? I am a bit dyslexic and choose what I read carefully, so something clear in the header of one the to PC announcement emails early enuff in the year to make plans to order and one again closer to the holiday would work for me. Can't speak for others.
I pay 9$US to 20$US for calendars, when i actually have money in December.
