Which plecos to get?

Post by Walrus »

I have a spare empty 30 x 12 x 15 inch tank. I'd like to keep a pleco in it. Can anyone recommend any species that would thrive in this size tank? Are there any really small species of pleco? We currently have a sailfin and a bullnose living happily in other much larger tanks and would like to add to the family.

You could try species of Hypancistrus or Ancistrus. They usually stay quite small.

Peckoltia's are also a smaller specie which will suit that size tank.

The Ancistrus are easy to breed, and as long as you have plenty of hiding places they'll be perfectly happy.
