What would be a good catfish which i could put one in with an Oscr in a 55 gallon tank?

How large is the Oscar? Do you have only one?
Which catfish has your preference? If you name some, I have no doubt that somebody here will tell you yes or no. You must make some choices first. Have a look into the Cat-eLog.

euh....

Oscars reach sizes varying from 10" to 1 foot or more.

hardly a fish suitable for 55. So the tank is already "overstocked", no place for any cat in there, no.

Hi. In the US, large plecos and large Synodontis species are often recommended as good tankmates for an Oscar.
The others' advice was right: you can start one baby Oscar in a 55 gallon, but you will be moving him to a 100 before long, and that is the minimum recommended size!
Domestically bred Oscars can grow to almost 14".
I hope this helps you decide.
