Syno mixed with whiptails etc

Post by rfb »

I am planning to put my 125 gal to a syno tank BUT I am finding it really difficult to part with the whiptails that I have and the rather large farlowella does this seem to be a weird combo.Should I consider a new tank for them and hope the landlady does not see it!One of the whiptails is so beautiful and about 7inches that is why I am finding it hard to part with him.

Do you already have the tanl max loaded with fish? If the filtration can handle it, why not keep syno's with the whiptail/s? There shouldn't be a problem with compatability.

What sort of synos were you thinking of keeping? Rift lake synos like hard, alkaline water. Riverine ones would probably be better with whiptails.
