Asian Cat Tankmates

Post by mokmu »

I would like to get a mottled/albino walking cat for my asian cat tank but not sure about tankmates. I have 3 striped cats and 2 siamese cats (lancer died a few months ago). Will the walking cat do okay with this present group. All sizes are within the 3-4 inch range. The cat in question is also the same size.

If not (which I think will be the answer) what other asian cats similar to the striped and siamese cat can I get instead of the walking cat.

Mike,

You can probably keep them together for some time, but a longer term solution might be to keep the walking cat with sun cats (Horabagrus).

Thanks HH. I was hoping that you would get to answer that. What other asian can I mix up with the existing cats that I have? Thanks.

Mike,

The only other catfish that comes to mind would be a shoal of mid-sized silurids (like Kryptopterus cryptopterus or Ompok eugeneiatus). You could always get more Mystus/Pseudomystus, but territories (=tank space) becomes greatly limiting.
