New Syno - ID?

Post by bunjiweb »

Got this gorgeous syno yesterday, it was labelled up at work as a Syno Polli, and yes, it does look like juvi polli, although it has been in the fish shop for a good couple of months and hasnt got any bigger, I think its probably a 'non-dwarf' petricola, which would make it about full size (4.5"?). It has the markings of this aswell, but i'd like to hear your opinions on it...

You should be able to tell if it is polli or petricola by comparing the width of the mouth (polli has a wider mouth).

That said, I think it's a petricola.

and a true one at that (as opposed to the popular Dwarf); looks like a copy of mine; I've got Wildcaught Burundi petricola's.

As I thought, a "true" petricola... Has exactly the same colourations of my fully grown "dwarf" petricola, just bigger.

Really gorgeous fish, cost me a fair bit, but worth it for a nice specimin!
