Is it really that much more effort to just type some and what? Do you do it for the effect or type phonetically? I've always wondered this since the new text messaging short hand typing phase started.

I'm sure Ken would like to know anything you can recall about your fish. What they ate, what temperature they preferred, how they behaved with tank mates, favorite caves, if you know how to sex them, any of that pertinent info :D .

Barbie,
This is probably not the place for this conversation, but I have the same pet peeve in general. I am guessing Kev is not a native English speaker as his signature has it's as a contraction of "it is" followed by the word "is." Reading "L-code is is me." I am sure I make mistakes on the Spanish language forums myself.
Sorry to hijack your the thread...

That would be why I was asking if it was for effect or just a phonetics issue ;). I don't understand why people do it and I'd really like someone to explain it to me at some point. I figured here was the best place to start!

At least you can post on the spanish forums. I took German in high school and I spend more time looking up words I can't remember than I do getting valuable information from the ones I try to learn on!

Im very much English, it's just text slang, most of the time i don't realise im doing it. "L-Code's is me", is just my way of saying "my main fish interest is Pleco's". Sorry if i offended anyone  .

Anyway back to the Blue eye's, if i may? lol, it was about 10 year's ago when i had my last blue eye, i kept it in a normal tropical tank with platy's and mollie's (i was only 13 and did'nt know any better :D ) i used to feed him on potato, cucumber all the usual stuff, never had any problem with him until he killed my L-27 then he just had to go! how wrong was i!!!!.

Again Barbie really sorry it won't happen again :D

Kev,
Hope I did not offend you by assuming you were a non-native English speaker. I was unaware that writing had become "text slang." Right or wrong (and I was wrong in this case) people will make judgements about you based on how you write. I certainly will not tell you how to write, but imagine how confusing your "text slang" is to all the people using the forum for whom English is not their native language. They have no idea that by "sum plecos" you actually mean "some plecos" or by "wot" you mean "what."

Sorry,

I should have been clearer on my question. I want to know what their temperament is? How agressive they are. As far as water requirements and diet, I have that information. What is your experience keeping them with other fishes, catfishes, P_lecos, etc. I was lucky to get one the other day and so far he has managed to rough-up a couple of lungfish, parrot cichlids, a torosus cat, a royal p_leco, and a few others. Ended up having to move him into my pleco tank with tons of driftwood and my L333/L66, L177, and others. So far he is to big to get to most of the other p_lecos hiding spots. So what is your experience in the past if you recall.

Any information would be great

I got the blue eye through a friend, and this one has been in captivity for atleast 7 years in a few stores' community display tanks.

Kev I don't want you to have the impression I was chewing you out! I don't understand why people do that is all and I was curious. It actually makes me have to stop and sound out the messages so it tends to be slower for me, hence, I notice it ;). I have a friend that it drives right up a wall, and while I'm not fond of it, it seemed worth figuring out why it's such a popular thing to do!

Sorry for hijacking your thread Ken. Please don't swat me with the Leporacanthicus! I promise I'll be good!

from my experience Ken i think you are going to have problem's keeping any pleco of a simular size to your blue eye  , i cant remember the water chemistry and as i was only 13 i would'nt say it was of great quality :D but he seemed to be ok. Good luck with your fish Ken and any chance of some pic's :D :D .
