Jerry,
Xenocara is no longer a valid genus and is an old synonym of Ancistrus. That said, it is too bad because it fits these fish (Xeno = alien cara = face). If the Ancistrus are coming from Colombia there is a good chance they are A. triradiatus. Mine are spawning monthly with no problems.

Very much as for most Ancistrus. Put a male and a female or two in a 15-20 gallon tank. Veggies should always be available (I use cucumber, green squash, yellow squash, and green beans mostly) with meaty foods twice a week. The set up I have a spawning trio in is a 20 long with a Biowheel 165 with a sponge prefilter and a powerhead (160 gph) alo with a sponge prefilter. Water changes are 70 percent weekly. Decor is a coconut with an entrance (an entire coconut as they like to eat the fiber shell), a couple of small pieces of driftwood and a PVC spawning tube (verticle). Water is pH 6.8, 2 dGH, and almost 0 KH. You really do not need water that soft though.
Send me some photos and I will try to ID them. A. triradiatus is the most common sp. shipped from here.
