Ancistrus claro and Hypancistrus sp. "Queen Arabesque&q

Post by Elspeth »

I have two L260s, currently in different community tanks, and one A. claro. I'm definitely eager to get some more A. claro!

When that happy day arrives, or perhaps before, here's my tentative plan. I'd like to set up a 50 U.S. gallon as a river tank, sponges and powerheads and large river rocks, and move these fish into it.

Will this work, and, how close is it to ideal? I'm thinking both species would appreciate this setup, and it would be enough space for 2 or more breeding pairs...

IME, the L260 prefer quite a bit warmer water than the A. claro are going to see the humor in. I keep both. The A. claro didnt' start to spawn til I moved them into a tank at about 78-80, rather than the 84 I keep the L260 at. You could probably make a halfway between point work though.
