Caves and hiding places
Caves and hiding places
I've just got a new tank (details below, and I'll get photos soon) and am soon going to introduce some plecs, either bristlenose or butterfly plecs, and need to sort out some hiding places for them.
I'm going to get a fairly large piece of bogwood, about 2' long, but wanted to add some caves for them as well. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes good, natural looking caves? To be honest, most of the tank decorations I've seen for sale in the UK are cheap and plasic looking, and haven't found much more on the net either.
Thanks
Nik

The most natural looking caves that I have come up with are homemade. I took a 2" pvc pipe(t-shaped) and used aquarium glue to glue on matching gravel that is in my tank. They blend in so well that my husband didn't notice where it was when I asked him if he liked the new cave.
I originally made it for the blue crawdads, and the pl*cos likes it as much as his big cave

Take slate/schist and aquarium glue
That is not only look naturel it is naturel
But first give the slate in a bucket with water for a week to see if oil is in it when it is surch for another slate and test again. (Oil swims and is a bit yellow)
Then glue it so that they builed caves wich are standing allown.
And at the and put it in the tank and your catfish will be your frends
