Glanidium leopardum

Post by Marc van Arc »

The pictures of this fish in the Cat-eLog are of two different species.
Pic 1 is definitely not the same as pics 2 & 3. The latter 2 seem Centromochlus, Tatia or even Auchenipterus spp.
Can anyone shine a light on this one?
Furthermore: does Glanidium have a rounded, V-shaped or straight caudal?
Thanks.

Judging from the shape of the neurocranium, all three pictures are of Glanidium.

Well, that comes as a surprise. I take it though that they are all Glanidium, but are they all leopardum? Is there such a wide variety in "looks" within this species?
HH, have you also got an answer for my Tail question?
Thanks.

I lumped them together more from lack of information than any other reason, as from the pattern what other differences do you see? I spent ages looking at these pics and couldn't tell from them any size differences.

I'd need some pretty firm reason to change them.
