Red sea Catfish

Post by Allan »

Hi

My sister is currently living in Saudi-arabia, and on a diving trip by Jeddah she saw schoals of catfish close to the shore.

Anyone know what they can be? And maybe have a picture link?

She descripe them as transparent/white with a little black, 15 cm long. Not Plotosus lineatus.

Just courious, so thanks

There are ariids in the Red Sea, mostly Arius thalassinus (now Netuma thalassinus; not too sure at the moment if there are any other species of ariids). This species is a relatively deep water fish, so your sister probably saw juveniles.
