tank photos

Post by laurab5 »

I know we already have TANK TALKS, but I would like to see a section dedicated to only tank photos. And in this you would tell what size tank, what type filter, substrate, plants, rock, and food you feed your fish. And then you could have a place for members comments. This is just a suggestion.

If Jools et.al. wants to set this up, I think the easiest way is to use the Album pages, and just have another album called "Tank Pictures", where each member has a limited (say 5) pictures they can post.

The fields that are user modifiable: Title & Pic Description should be sufficient to describe the tank, I expect.

There are of course other alternative solutions, but this seems like the one with least amount of work involved, and I'm sure we all know that Jools and the few people helping out with the maintenance of this site, are quite busy just keeping the site going as is, without adding MORE work to it.

Obviously, I'm sure that if someone wants to write a fancy plug-in for phpBB that does "Tank views", that "just works", that would be gratefully recieved by Jools and his helpers.

Actually, the Tank Talk forum was set up for almost exactly this purpose. The description reads "Post pictures of your beloved aquaria here. Also good for pictures of your fishrooms or equipment discussions. If you are posting pictures of identified catfish, please do so in the appropriate husbandry and reproduction forum above.".

I specifically don't want to host loads of pictures of peoples aquaria on my site and so have not built anythin beyond being able to add it to the restricted space in the album.
