Did a little nature collecting on the way home from a meeting with the Calgary Aquarium Society, hit a deer,a big buck.
The only thing I grabbed from the truck right after were the new plants I just got.

I hardly felt a thing even though it happened at highway speeds, the truck took all the force like it is supposed to.The worst part was the crap(fine powder & gases) from the airbags was choking me and I had to get out fast because of it.

My bet is the deer never felt a thing. You are lucky it wasn't a moose, the ending might ahave been a lot different.

Glad you are okay.

Moose and elk I can handle, they usually don't move as fast, deer "seem" to make a game of trying to clear the road in one leap just as you are going by.

There are always stories on the news every year about people being killed when their cars hit moose, especially in Maine. We have some deer that visit our backyard quite regularly. They come out of the woods, cross the street, forage on our little lawn, then go on the street to the next house. They use the streets. It's quite an odd site. The scary part is, they aren't scared of people. :? I'm glad you're okay, Birger.
