Just got back from Las Estacas. I had never heard of the place but we were in Cuernavaca and it was in a guide book we picked up. Anyway, we ran (40 minute drive) over there to take a look. Absolutely beautiful! It is a 1.5 mile "river" where an underground river comes up from the hills, runs a bit in the open, and then goes back underground. Spotted were convicts,
Tilapia, some cyprinid "suckers," goodeids, and livebearers. I will go back with a net and snorkle soonest. I was without a net or even shorts
The spawning convicts looked like nothing I have seen in the aquarium trade with their aquamarine breeding colors. The water was crystal clear.

"My journey is at an end and the tale is told. The reader who has followed so faithfully and so far, they have the right to ask, what do I bring back? It can be summed up in three words. Concentrate upon Uganda."
