Hello
Which visible signs showing me what kind of eel catfish i got? I'am not sure what i bought . In the shop it was declared as Channabellus apus ,but for me it looks more like a Gymnallabes typus. I dont know any physical charakteristics to objektify my clue ,so maybe here anyone can help me.
Thanx
how to differ Channallabes apus from Gymnollabes typus ?

Channallabes apus has no paired fins; "apus" means "no feet"; so this species has no ventrals or pectorals.
Gymnallabes typus has those but small. that one looks more like a very elongated Clariid with a weird head.
AFAIK Channallus is more of a burrower compared to Gymnallabus and it has shorter barbels as well; it looks more like a lamprey than like a proper Clariid.
