Red tail Catfish advice needed!!
Hi there everyone, i've inherited a 13 inch, one year old redtailed catfish from a friend of mine. Ive got an 8x2x2 tank set up for a 10 inch disc leopoldi ray thats arriving shortly with an 9-10 inch royal plec and a mother of snails cat about the same size already in there, my questions are firstly will the redtail definately outgrow this tank? As my books all give different sizes, and if not what tankmates will he accept? Thanks for your time fella's Wayne.

my experience says that it will outgrow a 8x2x2.will the redtail definately outgrow this tank?
As it grows you may find that it won't accept any tank mates except more RTC'swhat tankmates will he accept?
2 RTC's never get on 3 or more seem to do fine, but infighting will occur. It may tolerate
larger fish but then again you will have to provide a pond to house these large fish.
(again experience)

Here's the exeption to the rule: Verduyn C*****ds in Rotterdam, Netherlands has had 2 RTCs for more than 15 years now and they do fine together. They used to have tankmates, of which they were very fond. Like Hannibal, they were always having friends for dinner.....medaka wrote:2 RTC's never get on 3 or more seem to do fine
