Where to find them?

Post by rfb »

I have some synodontis multis and eupterus, and two that I as yet have to identify(no camera yet).About a year ago I lost my two Angelicus,it took me about a year of constant asking for my lfs to get them for me.My question is are the mail order places safe to use for shipping to distant places. An example would be Texas to southern Alberta Canada.I have had assurances from the suppliers that this would be ok but that is little to me to get me to do this as it is not cheap.I would really like to hear from some that have done this on the success of there orders or nitemares, and most important the who was the top of the list.I have two names that come to mind.Armkes for the synodontis and either riverwonders or exoticfinds for the "Americas" any ideas on any of the others for the far east fish that I may want. Thanks to all for the help

As at the time I lived in an area sans lfs, I bought about 95 percent of the fish I kept from fish2u.com. I was in Northern California, and fish2u is on the other side of the country, so the fish traveled almost 3,000 miles over night from them to my door. Never had a DOA, even at that distance, and will buy from them again. Yes, the overnight postage was high ($35.00 US), but was worth it to me to get healthy, uncommon fishes. Postage to Canada from the US will be more, of course, going over the international border. You must ask yourself if the fishes you want are hard to get enough in your area to be worth overnight postage.

I suppose most of them get their fish from lfs, and don't have to labor under the desolation I once did in California. I did discover, that shipping to Canada will incur a US $38.00 customs fee, so you're looking at at least $75 - $80 shipping in total. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up on it.
