Annoying: XPCOM:EventReceiver by Mozilla

I'm getting pretty bored with the above mentioned programme, which sits somewhere in Mozilla Firefox and makes my computer terribly sloooooooooow. Although recently updated to Firefox 1.5.0.3, this bug wasn't removed. A complete uninstall & reinstall didn't help either. I run Windows 2000; perhaps this programme requires XP?? Anyone recognizing this problem?
