European Cats for community?

Are there any relatively small (8" or less) european cats suitable for a coldwater community? I've so far got a tank with "phoxinus phoxinus", some small ornamental carp and a large yellow snail. I live in the basque country in spain so any I may find in local rivers or those of La Rioja?

Nope, since there is only one (very large) species of (native) European catfish.

Madtoms are a possibility (not sure you can get these outside of the US), or any of the smaller hillstream cats (like amblycipitids).
