Houdini the Newt

So this morning I get up, do the rounds of the tanks and the goddam newt has escaped. Again. Que mad search of entire house. No sign. I don't understand how an 8" newt lifts a half kilo tank lid. But she has. The worst bit is there's a window not too far from her house.. 6 meter drop to a tiny inaccesible alleyway between the houses (I live in the oldest part of bilbao, almost medeival) with a group of feral cats living in it. So time for a bit of climbing to see if she's down there. Doubt it but not going to leave her there if she is.. So advice for those interested in a giant fire bellied newt: Keep it in Alcatraz....

Update: climbing expedition over, no sign of newt, must conclude that has gone to the big pond in the sky via a cats stomach
