I went to go feed them today , and for some stupid reason they thought they would fight over the same piece of shrimp .. L273 vs L25 both 11-12"

More then likely it is aggression but with the scarlet being so submissive i cannot rule out courting.

i have a long list of spawning plans in the near future i will be happy to document as i go along, and no not these two together but each of there own variant

Hope Joe doesn't mind me "figuring out" what he's using:

According to the EXIF (EXtended Information Format) that goes with the picture:
Canon Digital Rebel
50mm/1.8 lens.
1/60 shutter
f/2.8
Flash used in auto-mode.

Stunning fish and photos. I have to limit myself to plecos 5 or less inches long but there's no denying the appeal of beatiful giants like yours.

Shaun,
Isn't it a bummer that there are so many fish to keep and never enough space and money to have it all.
I could use a dozen 240 gal tanks for a start. I get bored sometimes with all my discus. I was in Seattle last weekend wishing for an Australian arowana just because I miss having a garbage gut fish around. I did score two Monocirrhus Leaf fish as smaller garbage diposers.
