What botia???

These are the pictures from my friend. And this loaches all come from China. I am a Chinese but I cannot identify them. How about you?

There appears to be several species here, but the one with the thin yellow stripes is Botia pulchra, the upside down fish is possibly Leptobotia orientalis, and the uniformly-colored species is possibly Leptobotia tientaiensis.

Hello Marshel,

Have you checked this site http://www.loaches.com/species_index.html/ ? It has lots of pictures, some good reading as well.

I think Botia pulchra is the yellow striped -one, the uniformlly one could also be Leptobotia hengyangensis, the one upside down I have read referred to as Botia (Sinibotia) longiventralis but I'm not sure on any of those names.

Beautiful fish, Marshel! I don't think I've seen any of them alive.

BTW, find any Pearl River catfish yet?
