3/4" Petricola with 2" Mbuna?

Post by DJRansome »

I bought three new Petricola that are lucky if they are 3/4". They are planned to go in a 125 with mbuna ranging from 1" to 2". There are also three existing 2" Petricola. Are they too small to avoid being chomped?

They should be fine at that size.

SHould be fine. I just picked up some 1" inch S. Petricolas ( and 5 juvie cichlids) for my Mbuna tank currentlly hosuing 3-4 inches each. Ignored for most part. Just make sure you get at least 4+ and a lot of hiding places. For me, I have a lot of rocks and crevices and they hide and quick-exit there if they are getting stressed/etc. :D Good luck!

I have had three 2" Petricola for eight months, and I'm adding the three babies in a 125G mbuna tank. They are in quarantine now. Thanks!
