Breeding Tank Set Up For Corydoras Weitzmani ...?

hi guys,

some of you may of seen my previous post asking for advice about buying some cory's. iv decided to buy a group of 6 mixed sex, sub adult, wild caught fish and i am wondering what type of tank set-up would be best for them.

The tank is 25" long x 14" wide.

My Questions are as follows:

Do they need/like a strong current?

What Temperature is the water best kept?

Whats the best ph / hardness for the water?

and How often should i do water changes / and to what % of the total volume.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I can confirm the information on this link to be true as it's the same our collectors have told us as farr as location, and parameters go. Hope it helps good luck.

In case you wanted some varying opinions, here's what I've discovered via breeding weitzmanis:
They do not like excessive current--most corys are not big on whitewater type rapid setups, and this is no exception. Water flow is nice, just don't go overboard. They should be able to rest upon the gravel without much trouble.

I kept them at a moderate 75, and they bred, as is common amongst the genus, during colder water changes.

The softer the better-spawns go infertile in harder water (ask me how I know ). PH is not a big factor, provided it's within, oh, 1-1.5 points of 7.

Stick to your usual water changing regime. Once you see some noticeable girth on your females, go for a larger, colder swap.

thanks guys, the filter iv got in there doesnt produce any current really. will that be ok? id prefer it if there was a little current.

the tanks all set up and lookin good, just waiting for them to arrive on wednesday. cant wait!

luckily my waters naturally soft so that shouldnt be a problem. i normally change about 20% of the water a week, should i stick with that?
