Help!! L46 turned WHITE...

Post by blueblue »

Help, my L46 has turned white (as shown in the pictures)...
it is swimming and eating normally but its appearance doesn't seem to be right. :? :?

I am now treating it with nufurpirinol in an isolated tank...
are there any recommendations on the treatment? Why does it
turn into this strange appearance? Please advise...

HI!!!

He just got beaten up by another zebra...
It doesn't look to bad on your fish....but I have seen some being beaten up to the bleeding point and they are a way tougher to save this way...

Keep a close eye...
Might mean you don't have enough cave for all of your fish to hide!!!

Cheers

hi
its caused when 2 zebra's fight for territory. they go side by side and use their odontodes (cheek and pectoral) to rasp each other and the loser ends up looking like yours or even worse in some that i have seen. I own 18 zebra plecs and a few always end up lookin like this when i trigger them to spawn cos they fight for the best caves. dont worry about it just keep an eye to make sure it doesnt get worse or provide extra cover for them. the stripes will come back when it heals although they might be a bit wobbly lol
good luck
Life is like a box of chocolates........by the time its your turn there is only orange and coffee left!!!!
