Suggestions on proper care for a tigrinus
Iâ??ve been keeping and breeding Cichlids for years but am new to the world of exotic catfish. I recently got a tigrinus. Any suggestions anyone could give me would be awesome. Iâ??m particularly interested in what feeding routines you recommend. Iâ??ve got him in a 240. He about 10 inches not including lyres, and eating very well. Iâ??ve been feeding him every other day. He happily accepts frozen krill, frozen squid, frozen silversides, night crawlers, live ghost shrimp and feeders. Please school me!

A real tigrinum, huh? Special find. Be sure he has a strong current to exercise in. Can get big but by then I'm sure you can get an even larger tank when the time is ready. Maybe you can post a photo of your little tigrinum sometime for the catfish clan and for remembering how small he was when you first got him. It's good to hear he has a good appetite

Bought all the toys at one time and the photo thing is the most problematic for me. Sometimes I can do it sometimes I can't. I'm sure it will get easier.

I would note that there are often insteances where Tigs are fed too much high protien and become impacted. They can spend quite some time digesting a single peice of meat. If you see the fish is spitting food back up and trying to eat it again it would be illwise to feed any more.
I support Water Mart!!! You should too!
