Microsyno temperature preferences

Post by Birger »

I have been working with Microsynodontis sp.Nigeria for a while, trying different things to trigger spawning, as far as temperature I have been keeping them about 78 F, raising a few degrees during the "dry" times and dropping during the "rains", I have been going more extreme every time I start a new cycle.

Killifish from this area are generally kept at what is considered cooler temperatures, 60's to low 70's and this seems to be a standard practice.
Is this just the habitat they are located in or do the killi keepers know something I don't?

Looking for opinions for or against on if I should be trying the lower temperatures on the microsyno's or if anyone else has already done so.

Hi!

I have kept mine at around 24°c and find it is the best t° for them, over it seems to hot for them, and have really shown that they appreciate when I had them at a lower t°

Cheers
