Veggies Keep Clogging My Filters

I have 3 external eheims running on my display tank, and even after just a few feeds of vegetables, the inlet tubing to the filters clogs completely after about a week. At this point, the filter packs up, and is useless.

I'm getting pretty fed up of cleaning all the pipes out now!

Has anyone else suffered this problem? and what can you do about it?

I like their Pre-filter

I have one of their pre-filters, too. They seem to fit on the "Classic" filters, but not the "Pro" filters. Has anybody found a fitting that would work for the larger diameter tubing?
