Hi all,
I was browsing through a local store and came across a tank labeled "hairy Loricaria." They looked fairly interesting, and since there seemed to only be a single female in the tank, I decided to pick up a pair. I was browsing through the cat-eLog trying to figure out what they are, and they seem to really resemble R. latirostris.... but I believe the fish I have came out of Peru. Does anyone know if there are any Rineloricaria being exported from Peru?
I snapped some pictures after acclimating them, and I'll hopefully have them online later tonight. The next time I'm in the store, I'll ask about their country of origin.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
An other species wich looks very similar to S.latirostris is R.sp.aff.latirostris.
This species is out of an other habitat and differs a little bit from the described species.
There are some whiptail species wich were exportet from peru. So often a typ of H.lanceolata out of peru were exportet, also other, mostly undisribes species of the genus Rineloricaria, Hemiloricaria and so on.
regards
Norman
