Some of my snap-shots...now in the album

Post by Ryan S »

Take a look...

http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/albu ... er_id=4730

They are mainly of my Rio 300.
I've set it up as a S. American community tank (with whatever plants that survived the BA tetras advances).

Currently contains -

3 Black Neon tetras - not long-term fixtures
7 Buenos Aires tetras
15 Rummy nosed tetras
12 'Beckford's' Pencilfish
2 small Megalechis thoracata
3 Corydoras sterbai
1 small Flash Pleco, L204
1 Anostomus ternetzi

It's got a mixed sand substrate, I mixed black sand with normal colour to darken the substrate a bit. About a two-thirds of the substrate is coarser sand than usual, with the remaining 'end' of the tank cantaining a third of finer sand. So that's four types of sand I mixed!
(I also bought 'play sand' but found it too fine, and so didn't use it).

I got the plants mailorder from Greenline aquatics. A basic 48" tropical freshwater mix - good value and quick delivery. HOWEVER - I also got snails...

But that's all taken care of...

so the decor comprises of 4 peices of bogwood bought for loads at the LFS.
And to cap it off a rather nice branch I stumbled across (literally) on a Welsh mountainside (which has now finally decided to sink).

Heating (usually at 76 F), lighting and filtration are all the standard Juwel items, I've just added aeration using the provided powerhead, and that's it!

Cheers,

(v. v. happy) Ryan

Surely you mean something like 76'F or 26'C? (76'F = 24'C).

76'C would definitely make a nice fish-soup, although it would probably need some heating before you serve it... ;-)

Nice setup by the way.

 Not really sure!

It's a Fuji one - looks like an SLR but isn't...
Could well be this one...
