C35 "Black Phantom" Spawn

Post by Coryologist »

Greetings All,

Things have been a little quiet in the fish room. Except for C. duplicareus and C. similis - not much action. This morning I awoke to a nice spawning of my C35's. Right around 20 eggs. Since my last spawn of this fish was unsuccessful, I'm hoping for better luck this time. I'll keep you posted. - Frank/Guppyman

C35 "Black Phantom" Spawn - Again!

Post by Coryologist »

Greeting! Two weeks later and the C35's are at it again. About a dozen eggs, all laid on the bottom of a bare-bottomed tank. This time I am NOT moving the eggs. That has not worked on the past 2 spawnings. I am moving the guppies out and leaving the parents in the tank while providing lots of cover for the fry. These are the best looking eggs, to date and for the size of the fish - the eggs are huge. I think on the first 2 attempts the males were just getting their feet wet. Let's hope this time that I get some wigglers. Third time's the "charm." - Frank

Egg count now at 19.
