Australian common names.

Post by MatsP »

I posted this in Speak easy to explain "Salmon catfish":
Arius graeffei would be the one according to fishbase, although the US also uses this name for Chrysichthys brachynema and Arius leptaspis.

There's also "Lesser" and "Giant" Salmon Catfish. The lesser can be A. graeffei, or Arius berneyi. Giant is Arius thalassinus.

Finally, there's small-mouthed salmon catfish: Cinetodus froggatti.
Is it useful to add
Salmon catfish with links to A. graeffei, C. brachynema and A. leptaspis.
Lesser salmon catfish with links to A. graeffei and A. berneyi.
Giant salmon catfish with link to A. thalassinus
Small-mouthed salmon catfish with link to Cinetodus froggatti

I've added Salmon catfish to C. brachynema. A. leptaspis and C. froggatti aren't in the Cat-eLog, so nothing to link them too / no need to add. A. graeffei is already Lesser salmon catfish, so I don't want to add to that. I've added Giant salmon catfish with a link to A. thalassinus.
