I am hopeing that these can be confimed as julii? Please can someone confirm or tell me otherwise, They are about 6cm total length. I am certain that they are not the trilineatus but I maybe wrong.
Either way they are nice speciments and cost £4.95 each. I got a group of 5.
I can see the point with leopardus but they are so big. The standard length on these is about 6cm . I was amazed at the size in hindsight, the face is all wrong for julii but I am glad I bought them anyway. I still think the price was good for them. They seem very active in the tank
These are close to C. leopardus and may eventually be proven as such, but they have been given the C-number C131 as an interim identification measure. There are several other species with similar but bolder colour patterns, which also have C-number references, these could also be proven as variations of C. leopardus. They all require further detailed scientific investigation to determine their exact status, but I fear it will be along time in coming. For now I would stick with C131, which for the record are a considerably larger species than C. julii.
Thanks for all the help. I am pleased with my purchase none the less. They are a lovely group of fish. I guess I knew that they werent true julii, but they certainly werent the trilineatus that appear to be everywhere.
