Breeding Sterbai

Post by MERLIN2 »

I am having no success and wondered if anyone can help. I have four fish of which I think I have at least one male. I suspect I need a further male because the current one is showing no interest. My water is relatively soft with a ph of around 7. I have tried adding cold water which brings the temp down from 77 to around 74 but this has not induced any spawning behaviour. All of the fish are large/xlarge.The tank has around 1cm of fine gravel with a large clump of java moss. Dimensions are 45cmx30cmx45cm.

Any help would be much appreciated.

So far, most cory breeders would reccomend getting a ratio of at least 3 - 4 males to every female for the best chances of breeding....

And do try changing the water just during a storm (when the baro dips).... simulates the natural storm periods where thy tend to breed...
