I have 6 Cory Trilineatus (sold to me as Julii cory) in a Marineland Eclipse System 12 along with an abino bristlenose pleco, 1 amano shrimp and 1 bamboo (wood) shrimp.
The first time my cories spawned (2-3 months ago?), either the majority of the eggs wee unfertilized or didn't make it. The few that I did takeout resulted in about 7 that made it to the fry stage and of those, only 1 survived.
About a month ago, my cories spawned again and this time there were over 50 fry. Is this a typical # for a spawn? They were all in my 12 gallon tank for the first three weeks as I didn't have anywhere to put them. Nine of the fry have since died, and I just moved about 16 of them to my 5 gallon tank and given 6 away. I'm not sure about the exactly number, but I still have about 22 fry in the 12 gallon tank. How many cories can I realisitically expect to keep in the 12 gallon eclipse given my other tank inhabitants listed above.
How many fry in a typical cory spawn?
