Mixed catfish community

Post by chris 1 »

I have recently set up a 4 foot, 180L tank containing African & S. American catfish. At present it holds 6 small Corydora sterbai, 1 Pimelodus pictus, 6 Eutropiellus buffei & a pr of Platies. All fish were acclimatised to london water by the local dealer and all appear to be thriving.
Decoration is bogwood and java fern as well as a few anubias.
Filtration ia an Eheim 2324 and i have a large airstone to increase water movement.
I was wondering if i should get another pictus as the one i have spends a lot of time swimming with the buffei.
All fish were chosen for their peaceful disposition and its working at the moment. Would another pictus upset the balence?
I would be grateful for any views on an addition or the mix i already have.
Thanks
Chris

You might want to think about getting more than one more pictus. This is a schooling species more comfortable in a group.
