Dorsal ray count suggests B. splendens.

Hi,

did you buy it as a "B.britskii" ?

There are species in the trade under the name "Brochis britskii"...but these ones are probably an undecribed species.

We had a discussion on that some time ago:
http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... hp?t=15111

There you find pictures of my species, look at the one from belly-side, you see the white "spot" between the gills.
B.splendens looks very similar form below.

B.britskii does not have this wihte spot, it's a pink "bony shield", as you may see here:
http://www.amazon-exotic-import.de/Gall ... itskii.htm
also compare pictures on scotcat.com.

Dorsal ray count (as mentioned by Silurus):
B.splendens: 12
B.spec (sold as B.britskii): 14-15
B.britskii: > 16
best regards
Joern
