Synos hiding?

Post by kniesh »

Hi guys, I'm a newbie here and pretty new to keeping catfish. I have set up a 4ft long tank 40g UK. Its inhabitants are;

2x Bn's
2x Network Synodontis
3x Hoplos
1x RTBS
1x Parrot Cichlid

There are plenty of hiding spaces and the fish are all juvenile as I want to get very young fish in together and watch them grow in this tank before updaing when all are older an larger to a larger better tank.

The only other fish I am getting for this tank is 4 Rainbows boesmena (sp) and 3-4 Clown Loaches.

Sorry for the ramble, I have a question about the Synos. I have seen next to nothing of them since I put them in there, the y never seem to move at asll during the day. Is this likely to carry on or will they come out of their shells a bit as they grow? Thx in advance.

Hello & welcome to PC.
Your synos probably need some time to adjust. I'm sure that when they are more at ease they will show themselves more frequently, so there's no need to worry.
One point of attention, however: see to it that they feed. As long as they don't feed during the day, you should feed a little extra when the lights are out.
