Nick Baker's Weird Creatures - Candiru

Post by racoll »

I was pleasantly surprised to have watched a whole hour devoted to the candiru on channel 5.

They went to Puerto Maldonado in Peru, and found a doctor who reported that his hospital has treated 185 cases in 25 years.

Apparently they favour menstruating women.

They also spoke to a guy who had one enter his anus.

There were lots of other catfish too.

Anyone else see it?

Hello racoll I thought it was not to bad a program really, not overly sensationalist and the shots with those carpenter bees were very special!
It's the things you don't see that poke you in the eye!

Yes I liked I too.

Nick Baker's amiable style was appropriate I think, and there was enough science/decent journalism to not make me shout at the TV like normal.

I also liked the carpenter bees. :D

It was great!
One more bucket of water and the farce is complete.
