I think I have a pregnant Petricola. Anyway its stomach is huge. My three Petricolas are in a tank with four African Cichlid Peacocks.
I only have experience raising Mbuna Yellow Labs, use to strip the fry and put them in a breeder tank.
But don't have a clue what to do here. Can anybody give me some advice who has done this before.

synos do not get "pregnant" in the way that livebearers do so the full belly is either from food, infection, or being gravid with eggs. To my understanding, petricolas are an egg-scattering species so they are raised differently than moouth-brooded mbuna. The fry will be very small when hatched and require special foods.

petricolas
i have had mine spawn in the jar of marbles way most recommend. I have had more success vacuuming the gravel and looking thru the waste water carefully for eggs or fry. They are definately an egg scatterer. this way works for me, every third day i get 20 or so more babies out of the very crowded community tank.
