L046 - pair ???

Post by Stijn »

Hello,

I can purchase 2 Hypancistrus zebra ; If I take a look at the pictures, I guess this is a pair ?

You can see pictures of both fish in the follwing link :

Am I right / wrong ?

I would say that you're right, but its a bit hard to say from those images. But looking at the body and head I would say that you have a pair!

I wouldn't say that's a pair, one of them looks to be a male but the other could be a female or a subdominant male, most of the time males are easy to identify and some of the individuals we think are females end up been males. If the zebs are well fed and healthy it's easier to determinate their gender.

Hello,

thanks for the answers. I haven't bought them yet.

At the moment, I already have more males than females. I think I'm going to have a look at them, and hope that one of them is a female.

Stijn
