Lithodoras

Post by Tom »

Someone on Aquabid is selling Lithodoras dorsalis (with picture). From the pic I'm not 100% sure it is that species, what does everyone else think? If so, is that a fair price and does anyone have experience with this species?

Thanks,
Tom

Dave has seen this species, I expect, as there's photos with his credit on the Cat-eLog page:

Aside from growing quite large, I expect it to be a relatively easy to keep species. Not one for your planted tank tho', as the diet is distinctly vegetarian...

I recently saw two 10 inch Lithodoras dorsalis for sale. I love Doradidae but these get much to large for the home aquarium, three feet in length. By the way, they were selling for $100 each.
