They never stopped.

There is usually a Mod around to delete them.

No one has been around for awhile.

They always seem to appear in the Loricariidae Forum.

Correct. Depending on what time of day, and day of week, there are more or less contiguous flow of spam - I usually remove about 3 per day. Silurus deletes the user that is responsible when he gets around (in the meantime they are stuffed into a hidden forum).

They appear in the Loricariidae forum simply because that's the forum with the highest number of posts and thus the "most likely to hide unwanted spam" or "most likely to have posts read" or whatever the thinking is on that.
